Restoration & Repair

Six steps to a log home that lasts generations.

Every service is performed in-house, in the order the work is done — so nothing is subcontracted and nothing is skipped.

01

Finish Removal

We strip failed finish back to raw, sound wood — by chemical stripping or gentle media blasting — so the new system bonds and lasts.

02

Log Replacement

Rotted or damaged logs are replaced with logs made to match the size and profile of your home — structural repair that disappears into the wall.

03

Sanding

Logs and log ends are sanded smooth to even the surface and remove old finish, readying the wood to take stain evenly.

04

Cleaning & Washing

A detergent formulated specifically for logs and wood lifts grime, mildew, and weathering, plus the prep work that sets up a flawless finish.

05

Caulking & Chinking

We seal the joints with Perma-Chink products made for log homes — keeping weather out and energy in, with a clean, crafted line.

06

Staining & Sealing

The finish that protects and defines your home — stain, seal, and log-end sealing that brings the wood back to life and guards it for years.

Meet the owners

A dream that started with their own log home.

It had always been Scott and Cheryl’s dream to build a log home. They built theirs in 2005 and started River to River Log Homes the same year — and have built and restored hundreds of log homes since, first across the Midwest and, since 2017, from their home base in Boise.

Attention to detail, honest communication, returning every call and email, and always doing the right thing — that’s what they pride themselves on, and what they’ve built the company’s reputation on for nearly twenty years.

A workmanship warranty for as long as you own your home. Our labor is warranted against defects for as long as you own and reside there — because we stand behind what we build and restore.

Success stories

Owners who’d hire us again.

We highly recommend River to River Log Homes for all your log home repair. We would give them a 10 star rating if they offered that. Very happy with this team’s work.
Jay & Margaret Coppini
We recently hired River to River Log Homes to stain, seal and caulk our older log home. Teresa and her crew did a great job. They adapted to challenging weather and upon completion left the worksite cleaner than when they arrived. Scott is very responsive and actually picks up his phone when you call.
Brenda Weaver
They refinished our log home in a remote area that had been neglected for many years. They prepped, sanded, caulked, chinked, re-stained and re-sealed the entire home, giving it new life. They went above and beyond. Definitely recommend!
Rebecca Johnson
We are so very happy with the great job of re-staining our log cabin, making it look brand new again. It has been a true pleasure working with Scott Baker and all of his crew — they really take pride in their work. The cost was very reasonable.
